School Governors are responsible for the strategic direction of their School - agreeing with Staff the values that the School will stand for. The Governors also work with the Headteacher on planning and on constructing the School budget and are expected to act as ‘critical friends’ in discussions about the running of the School.
The Governors are always pleased to hear from anyone interested in playing a more active role in the management of the school via the governing body, or to hear what people feel about Caldecott generally.
The Governing body is a group of ordinary people, drawn from the local community, with interests in the School. In order to be representative of the various aspects of that community, there are different categories of Governor. Schools of a given size must recruit set numbers of Governors from each of these categories.
The constitution of the Governing Body is as follows:
5 Parent Representatives
4 Staff Representatives
4 Community Representatives
3 Local Authority Representatives
1 Associate Member
