Welcome to Larks class!
It has been lovely to meet you all this past week and to get to know the children; thay have all settled into their new class really well. We have been having lots of fun learning about Sharing a Shell, creating our own maps in Geography and practising writing our numbers and letters.
Our Larks' teaching team is Mrs Bailey on Mondays and Tuesdays and Miss Hunt on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We also have two Teaching Assistants, Miss Isom in the mornings and Miss Baag in the afternoons.
One of the most important parts of our learning is reading and phonics. It is vital that children read at home too and all children are expected to read at least 5 times a week at home with an adult. They should have their reading book and reading record in school every day. On a Monday they will be checked to see that they have done their 5 Reads at home and they will then be a Star Reader. Books will be changed on Mondays and Thursdays.
P.E. lessons are on Monday and Wednesdays. Please also ensure their uniform/PE kit is named as it is so much easier to locate clothing! Please ensure your child has a water bottle at school each day with water in and not squash/sugary drinks.
Parents/carers please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have, if it needs a longer discussion we can book a phone call for a suitable time so the conversation doesn't have to be rushed before/after school!
Thank you very much for your support so far. We look forward to a great year together.
Mrs Bailey and Miss Hunt
