Another fantastic day here at Morfa Bay; the children are having a great time. We had a mixture of sunshine and rain today with some beautiful rainbows to admire!
Amroth group (Augustine, Esme, Isla, Matthew, Josh, Julia, Lucy, Courtney and Robyn) started with the high ropes, which is challenging for many children however, all of the children in this group managed to climb their way to the top. Well done to all for their courage and encouraging words.
Angle group (Vivien, Titi, Sophie, Shania, Sinmi, Michaela, Omar, Joel and Jack) were the first to take on the crate stacking, which is a new challenge at Morfa Bay. Everyone managed a stack of at least nine crates with Joel and Jack achieving a fabulous thirteen! This is a great activity for developing the children's teamwork and communication.
Caldy group (Ruby H, Ruby C, Abi, Anna, Libby, Christie, Lily-Rose, Chloe and Olivia-Jade) visited the archery area to test out their firing abilities. This is a very technical sport and requires concentrated effort and all of the children rose to the challenge. The children compete over three rounds and at the end of the week, the top scorer will be awarded a prize.
Other activities for Amroth were archery and mountain biking (the children loved racing around on their bikes in the rain). Angle visited the climbing wall and finished off with archery and Caldy completed some amazing crate stacking with Lily-Rose and Ms Irving managing a whopping fifteen crates!
Dinner was a delicious chicken curry (with popadom) or spaghetti bolognese (with garlic bread) followed by jelly and squirty cream; empty plates were many!
We have finished off the evening with parachute games in the Crow's Nest and are soon to meet for hot chocolate and our star of the day announcements.
