Y6 Morfa Bay Residential Trip 2019 Day 3

After a hearty breakfast of pancakes, chocolate sauce and syrup, the groups headed out for their first activities. Amroth started with crate stacking where Isla and Courtney managed to stack the greatest number of crates (14). Angle went to the zipwire and were able to zip three times and Caldy headed to the Roundhouse to learn all about bushcraft (making fires and cooking fruit bread on an open fire). Amroth then moved onto the zipwire, Angle took on bushcraft (including making and testing a waterproof shelter) and Caldy overcame fears by tackling the high ropes. We were lucky to have lovely blue skies and no rain!

After lunch came the Morfa Bay mud assault course challenge for all groups. This is a timed group event where the children climb through cargo nets, crawl through mud and make mud angels in the puddles. All children were amazing and took on the challenge with resilience and determination. The winners of the challenge will be announced at our Morfa Bay presentation. Suffice to say, the children were all ready for a hot shower after this event!

Dinner tonight was a delicious roast dinner followed by ice cream. The children are now watching a DVD whilst munching on popcorn.

Our stars of the day for Tuesday were as follows:

Amroth - Augustine for showing determination and great perseverance in order to overcome his fears.

Angle - Vivien for her positivity and for keeping the whole group amused with her witty banter.

Caldy - Libby for taking on challenges with courage.

Our stars for today are:

Amroth - Julia for throwing herself into the activities (and the mud in the assault course) with smiles and positivity.

Angle - Sophie for overcoming her worries about the height of the zip wire and completing it twice!

Caldy - Chloe for just being a great team player and always having a smile on her face during the activities.

We are looking forward to an afternoon at the beach tomorrow (and of course the disco).
