Welcome Message from the Head

A very warm welcome to the Caldecott Primary School website.  Whether you already have a child at the school or are considering sending your child to us we hope that you find the site useful and informative.

My name is Margaret Wolf and I have been the lucky headteacher at Caldecott School for nearly 10 years.  I am very proud of our school and do encourage you all to come and visit if you are thinking of sending your child to Caldecott.

Our school motto is “Happy Learners, Aiming High” and this sums up our aim to ensure every single child fulfils their potential and builds confidence to achieve their dreams.

The staff at Caldecott are an amazing, committed, hard working and caring staff who provide stimulating and well planned learning for children of all abilities.  We have a positive partnership with parents, carers and our community and a dedicated Governing Body, School Council, Eco-Council and Friends of Caldecott.

You will find a warm and welcoming environment in our school built on excellent relationships between adults and children. Our school is wonderfully resourced with spacious, airy classrooms.  Caldecott enjoys lovely grounds with lots of activities for our children.

We form part of the South Abingdon Children’s Centre with a view to supporting children in the 5 outcomes of Every Child Matters and work closely with the Children’s Centre teacher.  We have a Home School Community Link worker and offer a variety of extended services for our families; daycare in the nursery, a breakfast club, an after-school club and holiday playschemes.   We are also involved in supporting childcare for children from 0-3 years as part of the Children’s Centre Scheme.

Curriculum Information

If you were unable to attend our parents' information sessions during the second week of term, the accompanying leaflets are available to view or download by clicking on the links below.  These leaflets will give you useful information about what your child is learning this year and how you can help.  A really significant way that you can support your child’s learning is to read with them at home at least five times a week.  This only needs to be for ten minutes each time but it really makes the difference.  This includes the older children as well.
