The Friends of Caldecott Primary School are a small, friendly group of parents, grandparents, carers and teachers who organise various events and activities throughout the year to raise money to fund the ‘extras’ that the school are unable to provide through their budget, making our children’s learning experience even more fulfilling and exciting.
In recent years we have provided an electronic, recording keyboard for musical events, sensory items for the nursery garden, donated hundreds of books to the library, helped cover the cost of many school trips, and many other things. The majority of our funds are raised through events that we run, such as the Summer Fair, Christmas Fair, Bingo nights, Discos and many more.
The Friends Committee meets about couple of times each term, and more informally as necessary, when events are approaching. The Committee members work together to create events, organising everything required to make the events successful, fun, safe and profitable. If you would like to help, but cannot attend meetings, we are happy to keep you posted about what is coming up and what help is needed.
Events do not just happen by magic - they take time and effort to put together! So please consider joining in and helping. There is no "minimum commitment" - just do as much as you would like to. All efforts are welcome and appreciated. There is lots of information in the Friends Welcome Pack and we are happy to keep you informed in person, via email or the Friends Facebook page. If you are interested in joining us, or just want to find out more about the Friends, please speak with one of the committee members or leave your details at the school office and we will contact you. We look forward to meeting you!
A new Committee is chosen at an Annual General Meeting in October of every school year.
The Committee also decide how the money raised will be spent.
The current Committee members are as follows, along with the meetings, you are most likely to find them outside:

If you would like more information about how the Friends Committee runs or want to get involved (even just on a trial basis!), just grab a Committee member in the playground one morning/afternoon. Or hand a note marked Friends in to the school office and it will be put in our tray.
