Welcome to Wrens!
Our teacher is Miss Croston and our teaching assistant is Miss Potter.
This term our topic is ‘Buckets and Spades’ which includes an exciting trip to Bournemouth beach. Part of this topic is about exploring what a day at the beach used to be like 100 years ago compared to what the beach is like now. We will be looking at coastal habitats and plants in science, so our trip to the beach will help us with this. For more information about what we doing in each subject, please see the termly newsletter.
Reading is very important, and we celebrate our 5 reads every week in school. So please write in your child's reading record when you have read with them and bring this and their reading book into school each day. Each week an e-reading book is assigned on the Oxford Owl website for which all children have a log-in and reading from this book counts for the 5 reads. Phonics/spelling homework is to work regularly on the Common Exception words. Each child has a sheet indicating which words they need to work on in reading and writing. Maths homework is to work on number bonds to 10 and 20 using the Numbots website.
We have PE twice a week so please make sure your child has a named PE kit and water bottle in school every day.
